Are you looking for a new opportunity with a reputable company? We are expanding our team in Fort McMurray, AB and now hiring for 3rd or 4th Apprentice and/or Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanics!

E Construction offers a permanent, year round opportunity in Alberta's fast paced road construction industry. Technicians perform a variety of repairs on both on and off highway equipment and do everything from troubleshooting equipment in the field to rebuilding major components in the shop.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely troubleshoot and perform maintenance on a wide variety of road construction equipment. Our equipment line includes highway trucks and trailers, asphalt paving equipment, loaders, skidsteers, graders, excavators, dozers, backhoes, power generators, vibratory compactors, mobile asphalt plants and more.
• Ensure our equipment is following a preventative maintenance schedule and maintain accurate records of work performed.
• Participate in company safety meetings and initiatives.
• This is a shop position, but opportunity for occasional field work may be required.
• Ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with the principles of the company's Code of Ethics.
• Examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics.
• Other mechanic and shop duties as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
• Must have a Heavy Equipment Technician Certificate or be registered as a 3rd or 4th year apprentice.
• Must have a valid Alberta driver’s license.
• CVIP license is an asset.

Working Conditions

• Schedule built to suit either local or out of town workers. Overtime is paid in accordance with applicable employment standards legislation.
• Travel to remote locations may be required occasionally. Accommodations and Live Out Allowance is applicable in most situations.
• Work is performed in a mix of shop and field settings which could include exposure to inclement weather, heat and humidity, dust, asphalt and fumes in addition to sitting, kneeling or standing for periods of time.
• Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
• Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
• Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended.
• Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
