Location: Primarily remote, with periodic in-person meetings at our downtown Toronto office

Contract Duration: 6 months, with potential for extension or long-term engagement

The Opportunity

Join House of Jewellery as we innovate the jewellery wholesale market through advanced drop-shipping and white-label solutions. Our expansion on the Magento platform aims to streamline product distribution, minimize inventory costs, and strengthen brand partnerships via seamless integration with third-party suppliers and marketplaces like Amazon, Walmart, and Etsy. Our white-label program enables retailers to showcase exclusive collections under their own brands, supported by real-time inventory updates, automated orders, and customized storefronts.

We seek an Ecommerce and Systems Integration Specialist to lead the development, optimization, and integration of our digital systems. If you are passionate about building impactful e-commerce platforms and want to be part of a transformative project, we want to hear from you.

Role Responsibilities
  • Oversee development and optimization of digital platforms, focusing on Magento and basic Shopify understanding.
  • Manage Linux-based servers, including cron jobs, scripting, and environment setup.
  • Configure and maintain Cloudflare settings (DNS, WAF, performance).
  • Ensure server uptime and performance, resolving errors and optimizing database/server load during traffic spikes.
  • Lead drop-shipping system development with marketplaces (Amazon, Walmart, Etsy) and merchants (e.g., Shopify).
  • Design scalable white-label product configurations in Magento for multiple brands.
  • Create and maintain onboarding templates for partners.
  • Enhance Magento drop-shipping and white-label features for performance and scalability.
  • Manage PHP applications (including Laravel and legacy frameworks).
  • Design and optimize relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL).
  • Oversee cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) for security and scalability.
  • Implement full-stack API integrations with marketplaces, ERPs, CRMs, and dashboards.
  • Maintain WAF security, monitor threats, and implement risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with teams and vendors to deploy tools and automate processes.
  • Define coding standards, deployment, and testing protocols using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.
Ideal Contractor Profile
  • 5+ years in full-stack development with strong PHP/Magento expertise
  • Experience managing e-commerce infrastructure and complex system integrations
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and Linux
  • Understanding of security protocols, database optimization, and API architecture
  • Experience with Amazon, Walmart, Etsy, Shopify integrations
  • Self-motivated and capable of delivering results in a fast-paced, agile environment
