The Role

The Electrodeposition (E-Coat) Paint Process Specialist will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the e-coat painting process, ensuring consistent quality, efficiency, and adherence to environmental and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, improvement, and optimization of the electrodeposition (e-coat) paint process to ensure high-quality finishes, maximum efficiency, and minimal waste.
• Assist in the development and oversight of process parameters within Manufacturing 4.0, focusing on maintaining operations within optimal performance standards.
• Monitor the e-coat paint process for deviations in paint quality.
• Troubleshoot any process anomalies and implement corrective actions to maintain smooth operations.
• Review the maintenance and cleanliness of paint racks, ensuring they are free from contaminants, build-up, and defects.
• Assist in developing and maintaining a preventive maintenance schedule for all e-coat process equipment.
• Create and maintain E-Coat Process Planning Sheets (EPPS) for all new and existing products.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical expertise and problem-solving support for e-coat-related issues.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and innovations in the electrocoating industry.
• Ensure the e-coat process complies with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Implement and enforce best practices for safety and ensure the team follows all standard operating procedures.
• All other duties as required.

Key Requirements

• Grade 12, GED, or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a recognized certificate in a related field is an asset.
• 3+ years of experience working with electrodeposition (e-coat) or related coating processes.
• Experience with paint systems, coating technologies, and industrial equipment.
• Relevant certifications in electrocoating or coatings technology are a plus.
