DZ Vacuum Truck Operator, Emergency Response

GFL Environmental is seeking full-time AZ/DZ Emergency Response Operators to support our liquid waste operations from our Thunder Bay, Ontario location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to environmental and industrial spills, clandestine laboratory decommissioning, highway incidents, train derailments, marine fuel spills, weather events, and chemical assessments.
  • Work alongside police, fire, EMS, Environment Canada, and other stakeholders.
  • Handle incidents involving heavy equipment, vacuum trucks, and water blasters.
  • Collect hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
  • Participate in safety and job-specific training.
  • Complete documentation and reporting accurately.
  • Maintain safety standards, report hazards, and adhere to relevant safety acts and regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

  • Valid AZ and/or DZ license.
  • Flexible availability and on-call readiness.
  • Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and motivation.
  • Valid First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 3 months.
  • Ability to lift 75+ lbs and manual dexterity.
