Job description

GFL Timmins is seeking an AZ/DZ Industrial driver to support the liquids division.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee cargo handling, secure loads, and ensure equipment is prepared following safety practices and regulations.
2. Work with government documents such as manifests.
3. Perform safety and roadworthiness inspections on equipment and loads.
4. Comply with legislation related to safe operation, carriage of goods, driver's hours, occupational health and safety, dangerous goods, customs, and weights and dimensions.
5. Operate trucks into loading/unloading positions, following signals, and ensure proper equipment positioning.
6. Check vehicle safety and mechanical condition before use.
7. Report any vehicle defects, accidents, violations, or damages.
8. Ensure all load documentation is complete and accurate.
9. Maintain logs of working hours and vehicle status, adhering to regulations.
10. Record and maintain required documentation like driver logs, bills of lading, and manifests.
11. Communicate effectively with the public, customers, and co-workers.
12. Load and unload trucks.
13. Inspect loads during transit to ensure security.
14. Deliver products and paperwork to customers courteously and promptly.
15. Clean up debris from loading/unloading.
16. Provide feedback on customer, mechanical, or delivery issues.
17. Train others as needed.
18. Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Valid DZ or AZ license.
2. Must be clean shaven.
3. Ability to lift 75+ lbs and perform physical labor.
4. Strong mechanical aptitude for routine vehicle maintenance.
5. Professional demeanor under stress.
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
7. Work indoors and outdoors as required.
8. Overtime and weekend work may be necessary, with on-call schedules.
