Position Overview

As a driver with Davey Tree, you will be responsible for ensuring the crew and equipment arrive at the job site safely and on time. Once at the site, you will join the crew as an Arborist Assistant, providing your knowledge and skills to ensure the job is completed correctly and promptly.

Job Duties

• Drive a commercial truck with crew and equipment to various job sites.
• Perform and log daily vehicle inspections.
• Maintain cleanliness of the truck.
• Support the crew as an active team member.
• Perform tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully, including pruning, thinning, removing deadwood, installing cables, bracing, lightning protection, and hazardous tree removal.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts.
• Assist in job site setup, debris removal, and cleanup.
• Follow safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Valid provincial driver's license (AZ or DZ).
• Clean driving record.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, or Landscaping preferred.
• Arborist certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Strong identification skills for trees, knots, and shrubs.
• Ability to safely ascend tree canopies.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Teamwork, willingness to learn and grow.
