Position Overview
As a driver with Davey Tree, you will be responsible for ensuring the crew and equipment arrive at the job site safely and on time. Once at the site, you will join the rest of the crew as an Arborist Assistant, providing your knowledge and skills to ensure the job gets done right and on time.

Job Duties

• Drive a commercial truck with crew and equipment to various job sites as required.
• Perform and log daily pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Maintain cleanliness of the truck, interior and exterior.
• Operate as an active crew member supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully, including pruning, thinning, removing deadwood, installing cables, bracing, lightning protection, and hazardous tree removal.
• Maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts.
• Assist in job site setup, debris removal, and cleanup.
• Follow safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Valid provincial driver's license with AZ or DZ classification.
• Clean drivers abstract.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, or Landscaping preferred.
• Arborist certification or willingness to pursue.
• Tree, knot, and shrub identification skills.
• Ability to safely ascend tree canopies at all heights.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Teamwork, willingness to learn, and safety focus.
