This is a union position located at our Barrie hauling site.

Must be able to drive manual-transmission trucks!

Starting Wage: $31.05/hr.

Start time: 5:30 am

Shift: Monday to Friday, 45-hour work week, Saturdays if needed

OT is paid after 40 hrs. weekly

I. Job Summary

Safely operates a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on swing routes. Drives a heavy-duty commercial vehicle in various environments including residential, commercial, and construction sites.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operates vehicle according to OSHA, DOT, and all local, state, and federal requirements, maintaining a clean and safe vehicle.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections using DVIR forms, noting issues for repair.
• Reports unsafe situations or service calls immediately to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
• Participates in scheduled training and meetings as required.
• Works with Operations Managers to improve route efficiency and address issues.
• Performs duties as scheduled, assisting other drivers as needed.
• Reports incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage promptly.
• Communicates route issues or customer requests to Dispatch or Operations Manager.
• Ensures containers are dumped properly, leaving the customer location clean.
• Completes customer tickets for excess yardage removal.
• Positions containers properly on customer property, ensuring lids are replaced, containers are upright, and do not block driveways or traffic.
• Follows route assignments and completes documentation at route end.

III. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, or Other Requirements

• Legally eligible to work in Canada with a valid SIN.
• Hold a current DZ or Class 3 license or higher; experience with frontload and/or roll-off preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old for CDL requirements.
• Complete pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check, including employment verification and driving record review.
• Must have an acceptable driving record.

The base pay range for this position is $31.05/hour. Salary may vary based on experience, education, certifications, qualifications, and location.
