DZ Delivery Driver

Primary Objectives

• Provide our customers with a level of service that is recognized throughout the industry as “the best” by developing, maintaining and enhancing strong and positive relationships with customers.
• Work with customers to resolve issues and maintain a positive relationship.
• Make daily deliveries in a safe and timely manner by driving with caution, observing all traffic laws.
• Demonstrate personal responsibility and accountability daily regarding attitude, job performance, professionalism and continuous development.
• Support and promote the company’s Core Values of Personal Excellence, Teamwork and Achievement.

Safety Accountabilities

• Use / wear protective equipment as required (e.g., steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, respirators).
• Report safety device issues or equipment defects to your supervisor.
• Report any contraventions of OHSA or company safety policies, accidents, incidents, or hazards.
• Operate machinery safely following safety rules and procedures.
• Be aware of hazards such as ergonomic injuries, slips, trips, cuts, vehicle accidents, etc.
• Follow company health and safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure safety standards are met and exceeded as per OHSA and company guidelines.

Other Key Accountabilities

• Perform truck safety checks and report concerns.
• Load and secure truck loads.
• Deliver priority orders first.
• Assist customers / branch staff with unloading.
• Complete all deliveries and pickups as scheduled.
• Coordinate with shipping for late deliveries.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid DZ license.
• Clean driving record for the past three years.
• Experience driving a five-ton truck.
• Experience in plumbing and HVAC distribution preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to work overtime and independently.
• Teamwork and problem-solving skills.
• Physical ability to lift and move large items.
