Job description

Job Title: DZ Driver/Chauffeur
Pay: $24.50/hr

Shifts: Monday to Friday

Hours: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Location: Ottawa, ON

We're actively seeking a DZ Truck Driver proficient in hand bombing (up to 80%) and capable of lifting items weighing up to 50lbs. This role involves delivering paper and office supplies to locations within Ottawa and its surrounding areas. We're looking for candidates with strong communication skills and a customer service mindset, as direct interaction with clients at delivery sites is a key aspect of the role.

Job details:

• Assemble delivery invoices in order of route - first to last - routing system.
• Check all stock in the staging area to match the customer charge sheet.
• Loads truck in correct route sequence.
• Ensure that errors in the staging area are corrected before departure.
• Complete log sheet on return by updating computer.
• Before departure performs a safety check of vehicle: airbrakes, fluid levels, and all related safety equipment.
• Accomplish maximum number of deliveries in a safe manner.
• Get customer signature on manifests as proof of delivery - print, sign and time in/out.
• Obtain authorization to pick up return product from customer.
• Check return goods match quantity and description of return sheet.
• Maintain a clean staging area that is free of returned goods.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Valid DZ class driver's license.
• Clean drivers abstract.
• Strong communication skills (both oral and written).
• Bilingual in French and English.
• 2+ years of truck driving experience, preferably with air brake.
• Valid forklift certificate preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-directed with the ability to work well with minimal supervision.
