Qualifications

• Extensive academic training and professional preparation in teaching.
• Knowledge of BC Education philosophy, practices, and assessment procedures.
• Ability to implement BC Educators Professional Standards.
• Training and certification in Olympic and/or Power Lifting, and/or Crossfit Level 1.
• At least 2 years of secondary experience teaching Physical Education.
• Knowledge of and commitment to Physical Literacy concepts from the BC curriculum.
• Ability to motivate struggling learners and maintain high expectations.
• Ability to use varied assessment methods to demonstrate learning.
• Proven classroom management with proactive approaches.
• Strong teamwork, leadership, organization, time management, and communication skills.
• Willingness to adopt First Peoples Principles of Learning and vertical curriculum.
• Commitment to technology-enhanced instruction and parent communication.
• Sensitivity to adolescent development and building positive relationships.
• Willingness to collaborate with staff, administration, and parents.
