Qualifications

• Educational Assistant diploma required.
• Minimum of two years working with children of all ages; experience with children with physical, cognitive and/or behavioural challenges preferred.
• First Aid and CPR training completed within probationary period.
• WEVAS, Working Safely with Students, and Respect In School or equivalent training completed.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to changing environments.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support development of skills and independence under direction of school administration, classroom and student service staff.
• Implement student-specific plans and articulated programming.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures and maintain required records.
• Supervise and assist students during instructional and non-instructional time.
• Prepare and organize materials for student plans and programming.
• Assist students with mobility as needed and required.
• Apply safety strategies and use PPE as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
