Job summary

The Town of Bonnyville is seeking a Full-Time Intermediate Lifeguard to maintain a safe, clean aquatic environment and deliver water‑based instruction. In this safety‑sensitive role you will supervise the pool area, run swim lessons, and assist with front desk duties and bookings.

You must be at least 18 with six months of related experience and hold a National Lifeguard certification, First Aid/CPR C, and a Swim/Lifesaving Instructor credential. Flexibility for evenings/weekends is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age with 6+ months lifeguard related experience.
• National Lifeguard certification as mandatory.
• Intermediate First Aid with CPR C.
• Swim and Lifesaving Instructor certification.
• Willingness to obtain AARFP Pool Operator Level 1 within 1 year.
• Maintain good physical condition per Lifesaving Society standards.
• Flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
• Safety-sensitive position and pre-employment drug/alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform active aquatic supervision and lead swim lessons in water; manage class lists and reports.
• Supervise Junior Lifeguards and casual staff in absence of supervisor/head guard.
• Conduct water tests and maintenance to keep balanced water quality.
• Assist with season pass sales, bookings, front desk, and cash-outs; enforce rules.
• Attend trainings; follow Town policies, OH&S regulations, and SDS sheets.
