Trisura Group in Toronto is looking for an experienced Underwriter to join the Commercial Surety team in our Downtown Toronto Hybrid office. You will analyze financial statements, underwrite submissions, and support national programs while building strong broker relationships.

The role emphasizes client service, problem solving, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to bring new products to market and support ongoing growth.

Qualifications

• BCom or BA with Business, Accounting, Finance, or Economics concentration.
• 2+ years of experience with financial statement analysis, financial modeling and valuation.
• Experience in surety, finance or commercial banking is a definite asset.
• Bilingual in French and English an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial analysis of new submissions and existing business.
• Provide underwriting support for branch offices nationwide on new submissions and monitor existing business for all classes of commercial surety.
• Assist in managing programs, developing new programs and maintaining existing programs.
• Participate in an audit team on branch accounts and programs.
• Manage all online and manual programs for over-line authorizations, cancellations and endorsements.
• Develop broker relationships with business units.
• Collaborate with E-Commerce team on commercial surety initiatives.
• Assist in bringing new products to market.
• Assist in production of marketing materials.
• Leverage relationships with US partners including management of premium bordereaus.
• Provide oversight of the Commercial Surety online knowledge centre.
