Qualifications

  • Primay Care Paramedic certification per Ambulance Act
  • Five years ambulance experience
  • Community Paramedicine certification or willing to obtain
  • Previous supervisory experience in ambulance sector preferred
  • Related certificates in "Effective Supervision" and "Site Management" preferred
  • Strong organization and negotiation skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft computer skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide day to day supervision of all paramedics and ensure cost efficient ambulance service.
  • Establish disaster control for ambulance service in Grey County.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and General Corporate Policies.
  • Oversee clinical performance and complete chart reviews.
  • Communicate new policies to staff and ensure understanding.
  • Complete performance appraisals for assigned staff.
  • Provide training to staff as directed.
  • Monitor vehicles, facilities and equipment for safety and readiness.
  • Respond to ambulance calls as a first response unit including patient assessment and monitoring.
  • Prepare routine and special reports as required.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
