Durham Forest Summer Day Camp Junior Counsellor

Position Overview

The Durham Forest Environmental Education Centre, near Uxbridge, Ontario, is hiring a Summer Camp Junior Counsellor for a wilderness summer camp focusing on hands-on, inquiry-based learning in nature for youth aged 7-12. The role is full-time, fixed-term, from June 26, 2025, to August 26, 2025.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist in developing summer camp programming, including planning and coordination.
  2. Work with a team to supervise and lead camper activities safely.
  3. Help create schedules for campers.
  4. Communicate professionally and timely with parents, caregivers, campers, and staff.
Qualifications
  • Must be completing at least Grade 10 as of June 2025.
  • Experience working with children is an asset.
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, responsible, with excellent communication skills.
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and Criminal Background Check required.
