Job summary

Empire Paving Ltd in Toronto seeks a driver to operate lighter, special purpose trucks at active job sites. You will load and unload materials, perform pre-trip inspections and help maintain vehicle readiness to meet daily construction schedules.

Candidates should have an English fluency and a valid Class 3 or D license with an Air Brake (Z) Endorsement. This on-site role requires attention to detail and reliability to support our paving crews across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• No degree, certificate or diploma required.
• 1 to less than 7 months of experience in operating trucks.
• Must have Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.
• Driver's License (Class 3 or D) is required.

Responsibilities

• Drive lighter, special purpose trucks to transport goods.
• Load and unload goods.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle.
• Perform preventive maintenance.
