Job summary

PTW Energy Services in Canada seeks a Dual ticketed Electrician and Instrumentation Technician in the Conklin Region to deliver safe, high-quality electrical and instrumentation work. The role emphasizes safety, client satisfaction, and precise maintenance in challenging industrial environments.

You will interpret drawings, calibrate instruments, support gas turbines and plant systems, and collaborate with operations and contractors.

Qualifications

  • Valid Journeyman Instrumentation Technician certificate; Red Seal Instrumentation Technician certification preferred.
  • Valid Journeyperson Electrician Certificate (Red Seal certification preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation and electrical principles, voltage/current relationships.
  • Valid H2S Alive, Fall Protection, Standard First Aid (Level A or C with CPR/AED), and CSTS 2020.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, DCS, and HMI systems (programming and troubleshooting).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
  • Experience in gas plants, power plants, or industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Proficient with test and calibration equipment (multimeters, loop calibrators, oscilloscopes).
  • Skilled using hand tools and electrical tools for installation and maintenance.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Flexible availability for shift work, overtime, and weekends, with a strong focus on safety and self-direction.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, test, and calibrate industrial instrumentation, electrical, and control systems.
  • Perform installation, calibration, and maintenance of process control instrumentation such as transmitters, analyzers, control valves, controllers, PLCs, and protective relays
  • Support and maintain power generation and industrial equipment, including gas turbines, generators, and plant auxiliary systems
  • Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance, diagnostics, and system optimization to support reliable operations and minimize downtime
  • Rebuild and calibrate instrumentation components in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, control system drawings, manuals, and technical documentation
  • Coordinate with operations, maintenance, engineering teams, and external contractors during installations, start-ups, and shutdowns
  • Accurately complete calibration records, maintenance reports, work orders, and electronic documentation (CMMS)
  • Communicate equipment condition, safety concerns, and job status clearly to operations and supervision
  • Perform all work in compliance with Health & Safety standards, OHS regulations, and company policies
  • Other duties as required

Role Summary

We are seeking a Dual ticketed Electrician and Instrumentation Technician to join our team in Conklin Region. The Dual ticketed tradesmanis committed to delivering safe, high-quality work that meets and exceeds client expectations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, and customer satisfaction, along with proven experience producing accurate, detail-oriented work in support of client needs.

Key Responsibilities

Compensation & Benefits
  • Rate:Based on Experience
  • Shift: 7 on and 7 off
  • Travel Allowance:$300
  • Accommodations: Camp Provided
  • Overtime opportunities paid at 1.5x the regular hourly rate.
