Qualifications

Description
One Full-Time Contract Position to March 31, 2026 (with the possibility of extension or becoming permanent)
Developmental Services Ontario Central East Region (DSO CER) is one of 9 regional access points for people applying for adult developmental services. The role of DSO CER is to provide information, confirm eligibility for service, assess support needs, and link people to services and supports in their community.

Working within a team, the Assessor Navigator is responsible for the provision of a variety of system functions within York Region. These include administration of the Application Package and the Supports Intensity Scale (SIS) assessment, providing locally based service navigation to applicants, public education and community development functions.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent (SSW, DSW, CYW or University Degree)
  • Minimum five years of experience working with individuals who have a developmental disability is essential
  • French language skills is considered an asset
  • Understanding of cultural diversity
  • Knowledge of the social service system and its providers is required
  • The successful applicant will be required to provide a police clearance that meets agency standards
  • A valid G Drivers License, access to a reliable vehicle and business use insurance coverage, OR access to reliable transportation
  • Travel across York Region is required

Starting Hourly Rate: $34.26 / Hour
Office Hours: Monday - Friday - 8:30 am - 4:30 pm / 35 hours per week
Office Expectations: Once per month
