Salary: $35.45 hourly / 35 hours per week
Terms of Employment: Permanent employment, Full time
Shifts: Day, Evening, Morning, Overtime, Shift, Weekend
Start Date: Starts as soon as possible
Vacancies: 2 vacancies

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year

Responsibilities

Tasks:

1. Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
2. Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster
3. Cure freshly plastered surfaces
4. Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
5. Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife
6. Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat, if required
7. Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices and trim
8. Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
9. Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound
10. Trowel or spray coats of stucco over exteriors of buildings to form weatherproof surfaces
11. Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring
12. Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts and electrical outlets
13. Install acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings and metal studs for composition wallboard or lath
14. Install exterior and interior steel studs
15. Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools
16. Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation
17. Utilize laser alignment system
18. Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms
