Job summary

City of Mississauga is seeking a Drop-In Leader to supervise and coordinate youth and adult drop-in programs across multiple facilities. The role focuses on participant needs, safety, and program guidelines, and it is a temporary, part-time assignment.

The successful candidate will oversee activities, assist with equipment, perform required admin tasks, and provide excellent customer service while maintaining a safe, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years old by the start date (Sept 26, 2026).
  • Must hold a valid Intermediate First Aid or Standard First Aid with CPR C & AED from a recognized WSIB-provider, at the employee’s expense.
  • Must hold a valid HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development certification and is at the employee’s expense.
  • Physical Literacy Training is considered an asset
  • Experience working with youth and adults.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Employment offer is conditional upon receipt of a Level 3 - Vulnerable Sector Check from a Police unit that is acceptable to the City of Mississauga.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise participants and planned activities in designated facility areas, manage behaviour and report any relevant participant/ staffing issues to supervisor.
  • Assist with program equipment set ups and tear downs. Inspect program equipment and facility to minimize potential risk to participants. Ensure the program location is always left clean, orderly and safe at all times.
  • Perform all necessary administration and program functions pertaining to the operation of each drop-in program ensuring that appropriate policies are being adhered to.
  • Provide quality customer service and act as a knowledgeable resource to participants, volunteers and customers.
  • Ensure supervision of participants at all times and provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants by adhering to department safety standards and assisting with emergency procedures as required.
  • Support physical literacy development as required.
  • Incorporate and model the HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development in program delivery where appropriate.
  • Complete all mandatory online job required learnings.
  • Attend and participate in training and staff meetings as scheduled.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Summary
