Job summary

A technology-driven firm based in Calgary is seeking an experienced Drone Pilot for wildlife mitigation projects. The pilot will be responsible for all flight operations and safety, working from March to November 2026. Candidates must have quadcopter experience, pass a Transport Canada background check, and hold a valid passport and Class 5 Drivers License. Job Description:

AERIUM Analytics Inc. is currently seeking to fill the following role:

A Drone Pilot serving as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) of assigned RPAS for wildlife mitigation on an industrial facility. The PIC is responsible for completing ground and flight operations including mission planning, briefing, execution, debriefing, aircrew field supervision, and ground/flight safety. This RPAS Pilot must be able to work on a rotational basis from March 30th until November 15th, 2026, in Northern Alberta (Calgary based field & office training will start March 9th, 2026, subject to change due to weather). Transportation will be coordinated from YYC, YEG, or YMM. Potential contract extensions after November 15th will be discussed and will be dependent on project load within AERIUM.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Quadcopter Experience
  • Safety First Attitude
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Be able to pass Transport Canada background check
  • Valid Passport and Class 5 Drivers License
  • This position is subject to pre-employment drug and alcohol testing

Bonus Skills:

  • Transport Canada Advanced RPAS Pilot Certification
  • H2S Alive, First-Aid, WHMIS, Wildlife Awareness Certifications
  • Bird & Wildlife Identification Knowledge (specifically Waterfowl and/or Shorebird)
  • Experience with plant ID and/or herbicide application
