Shift: 1st Shift

Work model: On-Site

Schedule: FULLTIME; Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-4 p.m.

Job overview:

Schneider is seeking a Driver Safety Manager in Edwardsville to lead a team of truck driver trainers and work with other training and safety leaders to ensure the organization's safety and training standards are met. The Driver Safety Manager will oversee all safety and training activities for their assigned division and administer action plans that align with operational goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to a group of driver trainers.
  • Partner with safety leaders to create safety metrics, policies and procedures that align with local, state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Support associates with any safety, training and operational needs they have.
  • Ensure all safety goals and metrics are met.
  • Provide regulatory and safety guidance to other training leaders.
  • Facilitate and execute safety assessments.
  • Respond to work-related injuries and crashes, to ensure adherence to regulations and policies.
  • Develop safety compliance training for their division.
  • Act as the safety and training liaison between various departments and teams.

Skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of operations, training, customer service, maintenance or management experience.
  • NATMI and OSHA 30 certifications preferred.
  • Experience working with agencies, including the DOT, local government and law enforcement.
  • Able to travel (10-18 weeks each year).
  • Able to work some weekends.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
