Job summary

SE Health Driver Assessment & Training in Mississauga is seeking an experienced Driving Instructor to conduct on-road assessments, rehabilitation, and tailored training for clients with disabilities or medical conditions. You will collaborate with Occupational Therapists to help clients regain mobility, confidence, and independence while delivering exceptional, client-centered care.

Qualifications

• Certification as an Ontario Driving Instructor.
• Minimum five (5) years of in-vehicle driving instruction experience.
• Ability to provide insured training vehicle with dual controls and basic adaptive equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Occupational Therapists with on-road driving assessments.
• Deliver individualized driver rehabilitation training under supervision and direction of an OT.
• Provide and maintain an instructor vehicle equipped with dual controls and adaptive driving equipment.
• Prepare, inspect, and maintain vehicles and adaptive equipment according to manufacturer recommendations.
• Assist clients in navigating Ministry of Transportation licensing requirements and processes.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation following SE Health standards.
• Communicate regularly with Occupational Therapists regarding client performance, progress, and training goals.
• Respond professionally and effectively to client needs and concerns.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality client service.
• Participate in ongoing staff education and training as required.
