Job summary

Oliver & Bonacini is seeking a Catering Driver/Porter to support the catering logistics team across the GTA. You will deliver food, equipment, and supplies, assist with event service, and help with breakdowns after events.

The role requires flexibility for early mornings and late nights, a clean G license, and the ability to lift up to 20 kg. Previous catering or customer service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid G license required.
• Must provide a clean drivers abstract/record.
• Catering experience preferred.
• Customer service experience required.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to lift 20 kg with ease.
• Must be available for event-based hours, including early mornings and late nights.
• Food Handlers and Smart Serve certifications are assets.
• Must be able to stand or drive for long periods.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate delivery details with Expeditor.
• Transport and deliver catering food and beverages with all supplies and equipment.
• Safely deliver products on foot or by vehicle and meet deadlines.
• Follow traffic rules and use knowledge of Toronto streets.
• Assist with packing and offsite catering equipment/food/beverages for events.
• Assist in inventory of catering equipment and storage facilities.
• Assist setup of chairs, tables, food stations, buffet lines and other event equipment.
• Follow Health & Safety regulations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job description

The Catering Driver/Porter supports the Catering logistics team in running successful catering orders and events within and around the GTA. The Catering Driver/Porter supports and carries out event set up, transporting equipment, food, or other supplies to the event location, assisting with service during the event, and breaking down/ cleaning up after the end of an event.

The day to day:

• Communicate with the Expeditor regarding delivery details
• Transport and deliver catering food and beverage with all vital supplies and equipment
• Safely deliver products via foot and/or vehicle while meeting deadlines
• Practice road rules and follow driving routes in the company vehicle using your extensive knowledge of Toronto streets
• Assist with general day-to-day tasks as needed including the packing of offsite catering equipment/food/beverage for upcoming events
• Assist in inventory of catering equipment and storage facilities
• Assist in the set up of chairs, tables, food stations, buffet lines and other event equipment, including rentals as requested by the Front of House Manager/Chef and Banquet Event Order
• Follow Health & Safety regulations
• Additional duties as assigned or required

• Valid G Drivers License

• Demonstrate the ability to work independently with limited supervision

• Can work calmly and effectively under pressure
