How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
The main objective of this position is to provide safe, efficient, prompt, and courteous pick-up and delivery service for gases while promoting ALC’s quality and safety objectives.
Adequate customer service:
- Provides prompt and courteous delivery of cylinder gases and/or welding supplies.
- Picks up empty cylinders as required.
- Maintains a personal liaison with Customers, Account Executives, Warehouse, and Customer Service teams.
Loads and unloads trucks:
- Loads and unloads trucks with other team members and ensures trucks are loaded efficiently and in accordance with regulations.
- Picks your own load of cylinders, plans your day based on dispatched items, drives to required sites, and manages empty cylinders upon return.
Truck equipment and maintenance:
- Ensures the maintenance and appearance of trucks and all equipment are properly maintained.
- Contacts the CMS team immediately with any system-related problems.
- Cylinder inspection: Inspects all cylinders for condition and reports any damage by tagging and noting customer information and condition on the tag and relevant documents.
- Uses the Quality System to record defective cylinders and customer complaints.
Administrative tasks:
- Issues accurate delivery notes and receipts for all products supplied and returned to ensure correct invoicing.
- Maintains accurate truck records, including PANDA, TDG, WHMIS documentation, highway logs, and follows all CMS procedures.
Safety/Quality:
- Operates vehicles safely, using all tools, dock plates, and tailgates carefully to ensure personal and others’ safety.
- Fully cooperates with all aspects of ALC’s safety program.
- Reports unsafe conditions and accidents immediately.
- Advises customers on proper handling and storage of cylinders and reports safety hazards.
Are you a MATCH?
- Diploma: High School Diploma
- Training: Valid Class 3 license with air, acceptable driver’s abstract
- Knowledge: Mechanical ability, good communication, knowledge of compressed gases and basic welding, MS Office skills, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (asset).
- Experience: 2 years in delivery industry.
- Physical: Able to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs.
