Job summary

EBlock Halifax is hiring part-time, on-call Drivers to move, stage, and run vehicles through our auction lanes. A safe driving record, comfort behind the wheel, and a good attitude are the main requirements!

We offer a competitive pay range ($17.00 - $19.50 per hour), continuous learning, an amazing culture, and more. Schedule: Up to 30 hours per week, Monday-Friday, on call.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Experience in automotive auction or dealership is an asset.
• Ability to drive vehicles with manual transmission preferred.
• Ability to enter/exit vehicles repeatedly.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk and reach for prolonged periods.
• Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, climb.
• Ability to lift 15 pounds.
• Ability to operate iPhone.

Responsibilities

• Drive vehicles in accordance with auction safety protocols.
• Deliver vehicles to designated areas on auction premises and to customer dealerships, observing driving rules and safety.
• Check vehicle fluids before delivering to offsite locations.
• Complete electronic Pre & Post sale delivery inspections.
• Line up and park vehicles as directed; move vehicles and jump-start when needed.
• Assist customers and coworkers, maintain lot cleanliness.
• Actively participate in safety practices and follow health procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Do

• Drive vehicles in accordance with auction safety protocols
• Drive vehicles to/from designated areas on Auction premises and to/from customer dealerships and businesses, while observing Auction driving rules, following the rules of the road, and demonstrating courtesy and defensive driving principles
• Check all vehicle fluids before delivering to an offsite location
• Complete electronic Pre & Post sale delivery inspection (walk around) of vehicle
• Line up and park vehicles as directed by a supervisor or team leader, move vehicles as necessary, and jump-start and locate “lost” vehicles
• Assist with getting vehicles operating as needed. If necessary, inflate tires, fill fuel tanks, and jump-start vehicles. Notify a supervisor when a vehicle is inoperative.
• Assist customers (i.e., dealers, account representatives, rental agencies, etc.) and coworkers as needed
• Maintain lot (pick up trash, etc.)
• Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such. Actively participate in support of all safety activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You Will Need

• Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license and safe driving record
• Prior experience in an automotive auction or dealership an asset
• Ability to drive vehicles with manual transmissions preferred
• Ability to constantly enter and exit vehicles
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time, and stand, walk, and reach
• Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, and climb
• Ability to lift 15 pounds
• Ability to operate iPhone

Working Conditions

• Ability and willingness to work in a variety of weather conditions
• Exposure to outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts, electrical shock hazards, fumes, dust, and odors
• Moderate noise level

The base pay for this part-time position is $17.00 - $19.50, and this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments. Your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. In addition, our ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
