Job summary

A leading industrial services provider is seeking team members for their Mobile Workforce for the 2025 Fall Turnaround in Sarnia. Candidates will assist with the operation of vacuum trucks, work at heights, and engage in labor-intensive activities. A valid Class 1 or 3 license and CSO certification are required, with competitive hourly rates ranging from $29 to $35. Opportunities for full-time work may follow project completion.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of labour or operator experience in an industrial environment is an asset.
  • Experience operating a manual transmission is a strong asset.
  • Strong reading and writing skills to meet testing requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside Labourers assisting with the operation of vacuum trucks.
  • Work safely at heights up to 100 meters.
  • Complete minor maintenance and checks on equipment.
  • Ensure safety for all team members and property.
  • Learn new skills by rigging in and out specialty equipment.

Job description

  • By applying to this job, you are applying for the 2025 FALL TURNAROUND. This role involves joining CEDA's Mobile Workforce, which staffs our turnaround events throughout the year.
  • Details :

    • Start Date : Intake dates start mid to end of August
    • Duration : The project(s) will last anywhere from 2 to 8 weeks. There is the possibility for redeployment to other projects or full-time work upon project completion
    • Location : Positions available in the following regions : Sarnia
    • Compensation : Candidates coming from out of town rates start at $29 / hr (travel and accommodations provided). Candidates local to the operating region rates range from $29-$35 / hr.
    • Shift : 6x1 or 12x2 shifts at 10-12 hours per day, days and nights.
    • Overtime : Overtime eligible! Shifts are based on an 8 / 44 rule.
    • Accommodation and Travel : Provided by CEDA for candidates that are not local to the area
    • Training : Build your skill set, equipment knowledge, and acquire various industry tickets through CEDA's shutdown training program.

    What you do :

    • Work alongside Labourers assisting with the operation and maintenance of vacuum trucks, high-pressure water equipment, and various specialty tools
    • Work safely at heights up to 100 meters in a labour-intensive capacity
    • Climb safely into small vessels and tanks with industrial cleaning equipment; our experienced crew has your back
    • Complete minor maintenance and checks on equipment
    • Ensure safety for all team members and property
    • Provide quality services to our clients
    • Learn new skills every day by rigging in and out specialty equipment
    • Leave the job site in better condition than when you arrived. Clean, safe, and job done.
    • Haul hoses, PPE, and tools to where the work is being done
    • Complete required paperwork for projects and jobs
    • Challenge your eye for detail; practice what we preach. Take your time, get the job done right the first time, and safely every time
    • Other duties as assigned

    What you bring :

    • Valid Class 1 or 3 licence with no more than 5 demerits in the last 3 years
    • Experience operating a manual transmission is a strong asset
    • 1 year of labour or operator experience in an industrial environment is an asset
    • Valid CSO certification is required
    • Confined Space and Fall Protection certifications are assets
    • Strong reading and writing skills to meet testing requirements
    • Able to provide a negative result on a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
