Job summary

PARC Retirement Living is seeking a Driver at the Oceana PARC community in White Rock, BC. This casual, part-time role (2-19 hours) offers an hourly rate of $27.85 and focuses on safe, courteous transportation for residents on scheduled and unscheduled trips.

You will drive residents to local destinations, assist with boarding and unboarding, perform vehicle inspections, and support the Active Living team with errands, scheduling, and maintaining resident safety.

Qualifications

• Class 4 unrestricted licence with at least three years of Class 4 driving experience.
• Excellent driving record with zero points over the last three years.
• Grade 12 education or equivalent; comfortable using an iPhone or tablet for scheduling.
• Attentive, professional and a customer service star, able to communicate tactfully with residents and the public.
• Understand and respect the needs of seniors, their families, and other professional services.

Responsibilities

• Drive residents to local destinations, appointments, shopping, and other requests.
• Operate the vehicle safely and courteously, following traffic regulations.
• Complete a vehicle inspection at start and end of shift; report safety concerns.
• Assist residents getting in and out of the vehicle.
• Keep track of residents on outings and ensure everyone returns to the residence safely.
• Run errands for residents as directed by management or reception team.
• Assist residents with booking trips using iPhone and Outlook calendars.
• Clean and tidy the vehicle.
• Perform other duties that support the team and operation.

About working at PARC

As a PARC Driver, you’re a key member of our Active Living team, helping our residents stay healthy, self-reliant, and engaged. You pay an essential role by providing safe, professional and courteous transportation for residents on scheduled and unscheduled trips.

As a PARC Driver you are responsible for:

• Driving residents to points of local interest, appointments, shopping, and other destinations as requested.
• Operating the vehicle in a safe and courteous manner, obeying all traffic regulations.
• Completing a vehicle inspection at the beginning and end of each shift, and reporting any safety concerns to the manager on duty.
• Physically helping residents in and out of the vehicle.
• Keeping track of residents on outings, and ensuring everyone gets back to the residence safely.
• Running errands for residents at the direction of the management or reception team.
• Assisting residents with booking trips using iPhone and Microsoft Office Outlook calendars.
• Cleaning and tidying the vehicle.
• Other duties that support the team and operation.
