PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

As a Driver - Car Compound, you will perform three main functions to support the Pitt Meadows Auto Compound, along with other related duties as required.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Ensure all work cards are identified to driver number.
2. Conduct visual inspections of assigned vehicles and ensure they are properly stocked for the day's work.
3. Load and unload railcars on designated tracks and within designated parking zones.
4. Pick up team members and continue to unload railcars until all are empty.
5. Maintain work instructions generated by the Supervisor.
6. Work with team members to open railcar doors and install bridge-plates between railcars.
7. Unchain bi-level and tri-level railcars on the track.
8. Perform other related duties as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
2. Able to work outside in all weather conditions, including summer heat and winter cold, as this job is 100% outdoor work.
3. Able to lift 50 lbs overhead (bridge plates are around 50 lbs).
4. Able to sustain physical work daily.
5. Weekend and holiday work is required.
