PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

As a Driver - Car Compound, you will perform three main functions to support the Pitt Meadows Auto Compound, along with other related duties as required.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  1. Ensure all work cards are identified to driver number.
  2. Conduct visual inspections of assigned vehicles and ensure they are properly stocked for the day’s work.
  3. Load and unload railcars on designated tracks and within parking zones.
  4. Pick up team members and continue unloading railcars until all are empty.
  5. Maintain work instructions generated by the Supervisor.
  6. Work with team members to open railcar doors and install bridge-plates between railcars.
  7. Unchain bi-level and tri-level railcars on the track.
  8. Perform other related duties as required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  1. High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  2. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (summer heat and winter cold).
  3. Ability to lift 50 lbs. overhead (bridge plates around 50 lbs).
  4. Ability to sustain physical work daily.
  5. Weekend and holiday work is required.

Medical Requirements:
