Job Description

The driver is responsible for driving a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) as well as packing, moving, and safely transporting household goods, office furniture, and other heavy items while providing outstanding customer service to all TWO MEN AND A TRUCK customers. The driver should have a general knowledge of functional support areas, including the core business, customer service, and moving.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Acts as the physical point of contact for new and existing customers, establishing rapport and building confidence in TWO MEN AND A TRUCK services.
  2. Makes recommendations based on customer needs regarding moving services, boxes, supplies, and equipment; may suggest alternative services or products based on cost, availability, or customer specifications.
  3. Obtains customer feedback during the move to ensure satisfaction and proactively resolves any complaints.
  4. Handles dissatisfied customers professionally and provides timely feedback to management regarding customer concerns.
  5. Keeps customers and management informed of delays and additional information needed to enhance satisfaction and profitability.
  6. Maintains thorough understanding of all company products, services, pricing, and promotions to effectively communicate benefits and counter customer objections.
  7. Performs Schedule 1 daily truck inspections and maintains a proper daily logbook.
  8. Accurately calculates charges for services, completes all move-related paperwork, and ensures paperwork and revenues are properly secured at the end of the day.
  9. Safely moves, packs, and unpacks customer belongings using proper equipment and techniques, following prescribed policies.
  10. Organizes and secures the truck after each job, maintaining cleanliness and safety.
  11. Conducts pre- and post-trip truck inspections and maintains equipment inventory.
  12. Wears a clean, approved TWO MEN AND A TRUCK uniform at all times.
  13. Maintains a positive image of the company through proper hygiene.
  14. Ensures compliance with policies outlined in the employee handbook and as directed by management.
  15. Participates in regular training programs offered through STICK MEN UNIVERSITY to enhance knowledge.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned by franchisee, general manager, move manager, or office manager.
Job Requirements

Because moving can be stressful, we seek candidates committed to excellent customer service and adaptable to various tasks.

  1. Excellent customer service skills.
  2. Ability to work in a team, communicate effectively and helpfully with coworkers, customers, and management.
  3. Effective communication regarding moving and packing strategies and techniques.
  4. Ability to direct others' work when necessary.
  5. Knowledge of Provincial and Federal driving requirements, rules, and regulations.
  6. Physical strength and agility to load items into trucks and maintain balance.
  7. Understanding and commitment to the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Mission Statement.
  8. Minimum age of 25 years, depending on insurance requirements, with at least one year of driving experience; industry experience preferred.
  9. Effective presentation skills; bilingual abilities are a plus.
  10. Basic mathematical skills for calculations involving currency, weight, volume, distance, and time.
  11. Problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret various instructions.
  12. Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, talking, sitting, hearing, handling, feeling, and lifting (up to 100 pounds or more). Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
