Job Description
The driver is responsible for driving a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) as well as packing, moving, and safely transporting household goods, office furniture, and other heavy items while providing outstanding customer service to all TWO MEN AND A TRUCK customers. The driver should have a general knowledge of functional support areas, including the core business, customer service, and moving.
Job Responsibilities
- Acts as the physical point of contact for new and existing customers, establishing rapport and building confidence in TWO MEN AND A TRUCK services.
- Makes recommendations based on customer needs regarding moving services, boxes, supplies, and equipment; may suggest alternative services or products based on cost, availability, or customer specifications.
- Obtains customer feedback during the move to ensure satisfaction and proactively resolves any complaints.
- Handles dissatisfied customers professionally and provides timely feedback to management regarding customer concerns.
- Keeps customers and management informed of delays and additional information needed to enhance satisfaction and profitability.
- Maintains thorough understanding of all company products, services, pricing, and promotions to effectively communicate benefits and counter customer objections.
- Performs Schedule 1 daily truck inspections and maintains a proper daily logbook.
- Accurately calculates charges for services, completes all move-related paperwork, and ensures paperwork and revenues are properly secured at the end of the day.
- Safely moves, packs, and unpacks customer belongings using proper equipment and techniques, following prescribed policies.
- Organizes and secures the truck after each job, maintaining cleanliness and safety.
- Conducts pre- and post-trip truck inspections and maintains equipment inventory.
- Wears a clean, approved TWO MEN AND A TRUCK uniform at all times.
- Maintains a positive image of the company through proper hygiene.
- Ensures compliance with policies outlined in the employee handbook and as directed by management.
- Participates in regular training programs offered through STICK MEN UNIVERSITY to enhance knowledge.
- Performs other duties as assigned by franchisee, general manager, move manager, or office manager.

- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a team, communicate effectively and helpfully with coworkers, customers, and management.
- Effective communication regarding moving and packing strategies and techniques.
- Ability to direct others' work when necessary.
- Knowledge of Provincial and Federal driving requirements, rules, and regulations.
- Physical strength and agility to load items into trucks and maintain balance.
- Understanding and commitment to the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Mission Statement.
- Minimum age of 25 years, depending on insurance requirements, with at least one year of driving experience; industry experience preferred.
- Effective presentation skills; bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Basic mathematical skills for calculations involving currency, weight, volume, distance, and time.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret various instructions.
- Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, talking, sitting, hearing, handling, feeling, and lifting (up to 100 pounds or more). Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
