Job summary

Weatherford seeks a Directional Drilling Field Specialist to lead wellsite operations and mentor a diverse team across all experience levels. You will drive target-path achievements with rotary steerable systems, supervise BHA configurations, and ensure safe, economical performance on site.

You will also generate comprehensive well reports, maintain equipment records, and collaborate with MWD teams to optimize parameters while promoting Weatherford products and services.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of directional drilling experience required
• 2+ years as a Driller or Derrick-hand
• Hands-on experience with Rotary Steerable tools
• Comprehensive knowledge of Drilling Systems products/services
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with rig-site personnel
• Strong problem-solving abilities with ability to work independently
• Outstanding organizational, troubleshooting and teamwork skills
• Motivated, self-disciplined and proactive

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise wellsite directional drilling operations to achieve target paths safely and economically
• Oversee BHA configuration according to engineering specifications
• Manage operation, inspection, and maintenance of motors and downhole tools at rig sites
• Execute RSS operations with precision
• Generate daily and final well reports and provide survey data to customers
• Mentor and train directional drilling team members across experience levels
• Collaborate with MWD teams to optimize BHA specifications and parameters
• Serve as primary liaison between wellsite personnel, internal teams and customers
• Maintain equipment records for all wellsite tools
• Support marketing, sales and promotion of company products and services
• Enforce safety protocols and participate in safety meetings

Join our team as a Directional Drilling Field Specialist and leverage cutting-edge technology to deliver premium directional drilling and downhole services. This hands-on leadership role combines technical expertise with team management, ensuring safe and economical wellsite operations while achieving precise target paths for our valued customers.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise wellsite directional drilling operations to achieve target paths safely and economically
• Oversee bottom hole assembly (BHA) configuration according to engineering specifications
• Manage operation, inspection, and maintenance of motors and downhole tools at rig sites
• Execute Rotary Steerable System (RSS) operations with precision
• Generate comprehensive daily and final well reports, maintain accurate well profile plots, and provide directional survey data to customers
• Supervise, mentor, and train directional drilling team members across all experience levels (DD I, DD II, DD III)
• Collaborate with MWD teams to optimize BHA specifications and engineering parameters
• Serve as primary communication liaison between wellsite personnel, internal teams, and customer representatives
• Maintain detailed equipment records for all wellsite tools
• Support marketing, sales, and promotion of company products and services
• Enforce all safety protocols, participate in mandatory safety meetings, and demonstrate unwavering commitment to Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental standards

Skills and Education

• Minimum 2+ years of directional drilling experience required
• 2+ years of experience as a Driller or Derrick-hand
