Job summary

Armatures Bois-Francs inc. in Châteauguay, QC is seeking a Drafting Technologist (Project Manager) to coordinate our clients’ projects from needs assessment to final installation of reinforcing steel. You will ensure smooth fabrication, delivery and site work while keeping stakeholders informed.

Under the Director of Technical Services, you’ll prepare fabrication documents, manage change requests and on-site contingencies, and ensure compliance with plans and standards for quality installations.

Qualifications

• DEP in Technical Drafting or DEC in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
• 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar position (construction).
• Experience with reinforcing steel and concrete structures; reading blueprints.
• Functional English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Preparing documents for fabrication, delivery, and installation of reinforcing steel.
• Coordinate fabrication, deliveries, and on-site installation with stakeholders.
• Manage impacts of change requests, on-site contingencies, and schedule adjustments.

Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Director of Technical Services, the Drafting Technologist (Project Manager) plays a key role in coordinating our clients’ projects, from understanding their needs through to the final installation of equipment. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of operations related to the fabrication, delivery, and installation of reinforcing steel.

Key Responsibilities

More specifically, the Drafting Technologist (Project Manager) will be responsible for:

• Preparing the documents required for the fabrication, delivery, and installation of reinforcing steel, in accordance with plans and specifications, contractual requirements, and applicable standards;
• Coordinate fabrication, deliveries, and on-site installation in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders;
• Manage the impacts of change requests, on-site contingencies, and schedule adjustments;
• Prepare detailed order forms for the fabrication of steel at the factory;
• Maintain regular communication with clients and other project stakeholders;
• Respond to technical inquiries related to construction sites;

Qualifications

• DEP in Technical Drafting or DEC in Civil Engineering or Architecture
• 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar position (construction);
• Experience with reinforcing steel and concrete structures;
• Excellent ability to read blueprints (structural and architectural);
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office suite;
• Knowledge of Rebarcad software (a plus);
• Functional English (spoken and written), due to a partially English-speaking client base.

Work location: Châteauguay, QC

Salary: Between $62,400.00 and $83,200.00 per year
