Job summary

Tundra Oil & Gas Limited, based in Manitoba, invites applications for a summer Drafting & Design Student based in Virden. The role supports Facilities projects May–August 2027, including drafting P&IDs, plot plans and pipelines, with exposure to QA/QC data and field data updates.

You will work under the Facilities Manager, using AutoCAD and MS Office to prepare construction binders, drawings, and related documentation. This is a great hands-on learning opportunity in a growing energy company.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a post-secondary education in Engineering Technology.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• AutoCAD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining underground facilities maps and QA/QC data.
• Draft and design P&IDs, PFDs, ISOs and plot plans for projects.
• Draft pipelines for flow line projects.
• Support construction projects with binders, BOMs, clearances and crossing agreements.
• Redline drawings pre- and post-construction.
• Other related duties as required.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Tundra has an opportunity for a Drafting & Design Student for the summer of 2027 (May-August) based out of the Virden, Manitoba office.

REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Assisting in maintaining underground Facilities maps (updating against known QA/QC data, Licenses, external data, locates received from the field, etc.)
• Drafting and designing of P&ID’s, PFD, ISO’s and plot plans for construction projects
• Drafting and designing of pipelines for Tundra’s flow line projects
• Drafting and designing small construction projects – Header upgrades, flow line tie in, Satellite, etc.
• Providing technical support for construction projects (assembly of construction binders, bill of materials, clearances & crossing agreements, etc.)
• Redlining of drawings pre- and post-construction
• Other related duties as required

WHAT YOU NEED:

• In progress of obtaining a post-secondary education in an Engineering Technology field
• Understanding of and ability to read and interpret engineering drawings – PFD, P&ID’s, Isometrics, plot plans, surveys
• AutoCAD experience
