Job summary

ENTRUST Solutions Group Canada, a Leidos company, seeks a Drafter - Civil/Structural Designer to support substation projects in Calgary. You will prepare 2D/3D structural drawings, apply steel detailing conventions, and collaborate with multi‑disciplinary engineering teams.

Work environment: 4 days in office downtown Calgary and 1 day remote. Requires 3–7+ years’ drafting with MicroStation and AutoCAD and 3+ years in structural steel fabrication drawings; diploma in Civil Engineering Technology

Qualifications

• 3–7+ years’ drafting experience in MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• 3+ years’ experience creating structural steel fabrication drawings.
• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare structural steel design and fabrication drawings.
• Create 2D and 3D drawings and interpret steel structure drawings.
• Detail connections and assess clashes with support steel and equipment.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary engineering groups.
• Interpret electrical equipment drawings to detail structural support systems.
• Foundation detailing including pile cap layout and design.

Description

Work Environment: 4 days in office in downtown Calgary, 1 day remote

ENTRUST Solutions Group Canada, a Leidos company is an engineering consulting firm with offices in Calgary and Regina that provides design and engineering services to the electric power delivery industry. Our expertise includes all aspects of Transmission, Substation and Distribution systems for voltages ranging from 4160V to 500kV.

What You’ll Do:

• Understanding of steel detailing conventions (gauge lines, edge distances, weld symbols etc.).
• Operating within steel standards and codes.
• Create structural steel design and fabrication drawings.
• Visualize and interpret steel structure drawings in 2d and 3d.
• Design and detail connections including checks for conflicts with support steel and equipment.
• Interpret electrical equipment drawings to detail structural support systems
• Prepare structural drawings which conform to customer drafting standards and guidelines.
• Work between multi-disciplinary engineering groups.
• Foundation detailing including pile cap layout and design.

Required Qualifications:

• 3-7+ years’ drafting experience in MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• 3+ years’ experience creating structural steel fabrication drawings.
• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with 3d drafting.
• Familiarity with high voltage substation equipment support structures.
