Salient Engineering is looking for highly motivated modeler / drafter to join our team in Oakville.We are searching for people who are passionate about creative and innovative design solutions to meet our client's needs.The successful candidate will be involved with the design of a wide range of projects across North America. The applicant should possess a keen interest in architecture & design as well as a high level of attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Create 3D Autodesk Inventor models of unique building façades and high end retail projects based on architectural drawings and design provided by engineers
• Review architectural & structural project drawings to ensure coordination between modeled design, design intent, and as built structures
• Develop 2D shop drawings, including plans, elevations, sections and details, and fabrication drawings based on 3D model or architectural drawings
• Ensure details and dimensions are accurately represented and coordinated across all sets
• Adhere to drafting standards and procedures
• Update and revise drawings as needed based on design changes and comments back from various stakeholders

Required Skills and Qualifications

• AutoCAD : Advanced level of proficiency with 5+ years of experience
• Autodesk Inventor : 2+ years
• Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, Bluebeam Revu
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
• Understanding of engineering principles and assembly, fabrication, and construction workflows
• Self-motivated, fast learner
• Ability to maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills
