Job description

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Door and Parts Sander to join our cabinet manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for sanding cabinet doors and other wooden components to ensure a smooth surface prior to finishing. You will work closely with other team members in the production and finishing departments to maintain high-quality standards and meet production schedules.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sand cabinet doors and components using hand sanders, pneumatic sanders, and other tools.
  • Inspect wood surfaces for defects, glue residue, or rough patches; take corrective action as needed.
  • Prepare wood surfaces for finishing by smoothing edges, contours, and flat surfaces.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding product quality and production needs.
  • Assist in training new team members as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in woodworking or cabinet manufacturing is a plus.
  • Familiarity with sanding tools and equipment (e.g., orbital sander, belt sander).
  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
  • Basic understanding of measurements and tools (e.g., tape measure, calipers).
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Working Conditions:
  • Exposure to wood dust and industrial noise (PPE provided).
  • Standing, bending, and repetitive hand movements required.
  • May involve working around heavy machinery and hazardous materials.
Hours of Work:
  • Standard workweek is Monday to Friday, 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM.
  • On-site role.
