Job description

The Donor Relations Officer supports the planning and delivery of donor recognition initiatives across all Providence sites. The incumbent helps to ensure donors receive consistent, meaningful, and engaging recognition experiences by assisting with recognition activities for signature events, including Lights of Hope, and contributes to the implementation of recognition entitlements for Providence Programs and our new Jim Pattison Medical Campus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating plaque production, updates, and installations.
• Assisting with annual donor wall updates.
• Helping with special recognition projects and campaign-specific initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to support recognition planning and execution.
• Lead recognition tracking in database.
• Responsible for coordinating the recognition aspect of Lights of Hope, including but not limited to :
• Tracking key dates and deliverables.
• Supporting the implementation of donor recognition thresholds.
• Coordinating with vendors and partners to ensure timely delivery.
• Oversight for all stars on the display and ensuring all donors are represented.
• Support recognition fulfillment for corporate sponsors and in-kind donors for events such as Feast of Fortune and Lights of Hope.
• Maintain a clear knowledge and understanding of the Foundation's donor recognition policies and guidelines to ensure consistent and equitable donor recognition.
• Assume other tasks as assigned by Director, Stewardship & Donor Relations.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years' progressive donor relations experience or fundraising experience either in a hospital or health care foundation, or academic development office.
• Able to contribute to and participate in a positive work environment with professionalism and a service-oriented attitude.
• Highly effective and professional interpersonal skills and collaborative team player. Able to establish and maintain positive working relationships, both internally and externally.
• A high degree of initiative, discernment and resourcefulness; and thoughtfulness in decision-making
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Highly computer-literate with excellent Microsoft Office computer skills and experience with Raisers Edge or a like database.
