Donor Development and Communications Coordinator

Part-Time | 2-3 Days per week| Based in Markdale, Ontario

The Centre Grey Health Services Foundation (CGHSF) is looking for a motivated, community-minded professional to join our close-knit team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about rural healthcare, enjoys building relationships, and has experience in fundraising, donor engagement, or nonprofit communications.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Donor Development and Communications Coordinator supports the day-to-day operations of the Foundation, with a focus on donor relations, communications, fundraising campaigns, event coordination, and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities

Donor Engagement & Fundraising

  • Maintain data integrity and update donor database (Donor Perfect), maximize the software to the foundations benefit, prepare reports, and manage donor recognition efforts including annual updates to donor walls.
  • Support donor acquisition, reactivation, and stewardship strategies.
  • Coordinate and execute donor programs (ie Monthly Giving, Grateful Patient etc)
  • Cultivate strong relationships with donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community event organizers.
  • Research new funding opportunities (grants, corporate giving, etc.).
  • Support Major Gifts development

Communications & Digital Presence

  • Manage social media channels, email marketing, and update the CGHSF website.
  • Draft donor proposals, stewardship materials, and campaign collateral.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to donor inquiries via phone, email, and mail.
  • Contribute to the development of annual reports and other public-facing communications.

Events & Community Involvement

  • Assist in planning and executing fundraising events, including marketing, logistics, sponsorship, and volunteer coordination.
  • Maintain a calendar of appeals, grant deadlines, and committee meetings.

Administrative & Board Support

  • Provide executive-level support to the Executive Director, Board Chair, and committee volunteers.
  • Assist in coordination of Board and Committee meetings, take and distribute meeting minutes as required.
  • Ensure compliance with PCI standards and maintain licensing records.
  • Prepare documents and reports, maintain filing systems, and support daily operations.
  • Understand Canada Revenue Agency rules for charitable organizations.

Learning & Professional Development

  • Participate in regular team meetings and strategic planning.
  • Identify and attend relevant training, workshops, and conferences.
  • Stay current on trends and best practices in fundraising and community engagement.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in fundraising, nonprofit management, communications, or related field or experience in a similar role, ideally in a charitable or nonprofit setting.
  • Demonstrated experience with donor databases (Donor Perfect preferred), social media, Canva, and email platforms.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality, work independently, and contribute to a small team.

Working Conditions

  • Compensation to be set based upon experience
  • 3 days per week, with occasional evening or weekend events.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle required.
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Check required upon hire.
