Job summary

The Saskatchewan Foster Families Association (SFFA) is seeking a Domestic Support Worker to help with housekeeping and organization in a home. This casual role involves 15 hours per week with weekdays preferred, offering flexibility and the potential for additional hours in the future.

You will perform cleaning tasks, manage kitchen duties, and ensure a safe, orderly living environment. Prior cleaning experience is valued but not mandatory; reliability and independence are essential.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Criminal Record Check (inclusive of Vulnerable Sector Check).
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures and practices.
  • Ability to read and follow instructions.
  • Understanding of safety practices when using cleaning agents.
  • Previous job experience in house cleaning, commercial property cleaning, or hotel cleaning is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors throughout the home.
  • Manage kitchen duties, including sanitizing countertops, cupboards, tables, and chairs, and organizing within cupboards, pantry, and refrigerator.
  • Clean and maintain kitchen appliances, such as cooking ranges, dishwashers, and microwaves.
  • Empty waste bins and garbage cans.
  • Dust living areas, including window blinds and interior windows.
  • Sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, tubs, showers, mirrors, and sinks.
  • Sanitize common surfaces throughout the home, including door handles, baseboards, and walls.
  • Wash, fold, and put away laundry.
  • Accurately document tasks completed.

About Us: The Saskatchewan Foster Families Association (SFFA) is committed to supporting foster families and creating nurturing environments for children and youth in care across the province. We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Domestic Support Worker to assist with housekeeping and organization within a home. This is a casual position with potential for additional hours in the future.

Position Overview: As a Domestic Support Worker, you will play an integral role in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe home environment. You will be responsible for performing various housekeeping tasks, ensuring that all areas of the home are well-maintained and organized. The ideal candidate will have strong time management skills, be able to work independently, and take pride in keeping the home clean and orderly.
