Job summary

National Bank of Canada is seeking a Documentation Governance Lead within the Capital Markets Client Due Diligence team. You will drive a structured documentation framework that aligns with regulatory requirements and transformation initiatives, steering governance, and efficiency improvements across partners.

You will implement a strategy, assess existing documentation, and manage a roadmap while collaborating with Legal, Compliance, and Operations to ensure a consistent, sustainable governance

Qualifications

• University degree in finance, business, or a related field is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in documentation or operational governance.
• Experience documenting, reviewing, and optimizing complex operational processes.
• Knowledge of governance frameworks and continuous improvement methods.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Atlassian, and process-mapping tools.
• Familiarity with financial services, capital markets, and regulatory compliance (AML/KYC) is preferred.
• Experience leveraging AI tools, such as Copilot, for documentation and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement a documentation governance strategy aligned with priorities.
• Assess existing documentation to identify gaps and risks.
• Establish and manage a roadmap for documentation initiatives and timelines.
• Document and optimize processes, guides, and standards for operational excellence.
• Collaborate with Business, Legal, Compliance, and Operations partners to ensure regulatory alignment.
• Develop governance tools, dashboards, and KPIs to support continuous improvement.
