Role Summary

We are hiring a Document Production Editor to help transform raw transcripts into final, polished, client-ready documents. This role combines document formatting, quality control, and editorial refinement. It's ideal for detail-driven professionals who take pride in producing consistent, well-structured, and error-free content in a fast-paced, remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

Review and refine transcripts to ensure grammatical accuracy, clarity, and proper formatting

Correct spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, and document layout issues

Apply company standards and client-specific instructions for document style and structure

Ensure speaker identification, tagging, and timestamps (when required) are properly formatted

Use tools like Microsoft Word macros, Track Changes, and Format Painter to streamline editing

Manage version control and folder structure via OneDrive

Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of all client files

Required Skills & Technology

Minimum 2 years of experience in transcription editing, proofreading, or document production

Advanced Microsoft Word proficiency, including :

Grammar and proofing tools

Macros and formatting shortcuts

Find and Replace

Track Changes and collaborative tools

Familiarity with Canadian grammar and spelling standards

Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver clean, professional documents

Competency with cloud-based file sharing (e.g., OneDrive)

Ability to manage tasks independently and meet deadlines

Preferred Experience

Experience editing legal, medical, academic, or multi-speaker transcripts

Understanding of strict vs. intelligent verbatim formats

Comfort with macros or automation tools in Microsoft Word

Familiarity with Express Scribe or other audio review tools

Bilingual (English / French) is an asset

Highly organized and detail-oriented

Independent, dependable, and self-motivated

Able to follow complex formatting instructions with precision

Comfortable communicating professionally via email

Maintains confidentiality, discretion, and client trust

Compensation & Terms

Paid per audio minute, starting at $19-$25 hour depending on experience formatting
