Job description

Peter Lucas Project Management invests in people, community, and cutting-edge technology to provide gold standard project delivery. We are currently looking for a Document Controller to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage project document control systems to ensure accurate and timely documentation of all project-related materials.
  • Support the planning, scheduling, and execution of major capital and maintenance projects within the Mine Department.
  • Assist in scope definition, cost and schedule tracking, and project performance reporting to support overall project control.
  • Prepare and manage project documentation including work packages, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and procurement documents.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, contractors, sub-contractors, consultants, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Monitor contractor and sub-contractor activities underground to ensure compliance with safety protocols and project standards.
  • Participate in and document construction and coordination meetings; follow up on action items and ensure timely communication of outcomes.
  • Oversee contract management duties on behalf of the Owner, including tracking deliverables, managing changes, and ensuring adherence to terms.
  • Enforce site safety procedures and standards; support continuous improvement in health and safety practices.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment by maintaining clear communication and supporting project integration across disciplines.

  • Proven experience in project document control, preferably within a mining, industrial, or construction environment.
  • Strong understanding of document control systems, procedures, and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and implement practical document control solutions in a project team setting.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, vendors, and consultants.
  • Familiarity with project planning, scheduling, and coordination processes.
  • Experience with scope, schedule, and cost control as part of project execution.
  • Knowledge of contract management and procurement documentation (e.g., RFPs, work packages).
  • Ability to monitor and enforce site safety procedures and protocols.
  • Must be able to work onsite—remote work is not an option.
