Job Summary

We are currently looking to fill a Casual opportunity for a Doctor Preference Card Clerk/Inventory Analyst at Royal Columbian Hospital located in New Westminster, BC.

Detailed Overview

This role develops, implements, and maintains stock control systems and procedures for OR supplies and equipment. Responsibilities include completing requisitions, conducting inventory audits, and maintaining the OR Preference Card Item Dictionary.
Responsibilities


  1. Controls OR inventory content and levels by reviewing and analyzing inventory status and stock usage.
  2. Conducts regular physical checks, investigates discrepancies, and resolves issues.
  3. Completes requisitions for OR supplies and equipment, ensuring proper handling of incoming supplies.
  4. Liaises with external sales representatives for orders and communicates with relevant departments.
  5. Assists in reviewing OR slate validation reports and obtaining necessary equipment for surgeries.
  6. Helps in picking supplies and instruments for surgical cases.
  7. Rotates stock and reprocesses outdated supplies.
  8. Maintains documentation and systems in compliance with best practices.
  9. Participates in the Quality Assurance Program by collecting data.
  10. Creates and maintains OR Doctors Preference Cards and related lists.
  11. Collaborates with Care Leaders regarding inventory nomenclature and locations.
  12. Participates in maintaining the Preference Card System and Meditech Item Dictionary.
  13. Ensures supplies and equipment are labeled and organized.
  14. Maintains supplies and equipment catalogues and relevant records.
  15. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Grade twelve (12), successful completion of a Sterile Supply Processing course, and three (3) years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Knowledge of surgical and medical terminology.
  • Ability to keyboard 40 w.p.m.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
