We are currently seeking a reliable and physically capable Dock Worker to join our team. This essential role involves the efficient and safe loading and unloading of freight, primarily using a forklift. The Dock Worker will also maintain an organized and clean dock environment and ensure accurate handling of shipments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operate a forklift safely and efficiently to load and unload trailers.
2. Load and unload freight from local Pickup and Delivery (P&D) units.
3. Document overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D) accurately according to company procedures.
4. Reweigh and cube freight as needed.
5. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dock and yard area, free of debris.
6. Perform heavy lifting to move and handle freight as required.
7. Assist customers with freight pick-ups and drop-offs professionally and courteously.
8. Perform general cleaning duties for the dock and trailers.
9. Undertake additional duties as assigned.
10. Demonstrate flexibility to work afternoon and night shifts when operational needs arise.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience operating a forklift.
• Excellent punctuality and attendance.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with customers.
• Positive attitude.

Nice-to-Have Skills/Experience:

• Experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
• Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures.
• Familiarity with electronic scanning equipment.
• Safety certifications beyond forklift operation.
