Job description

City Experiences is seeking a Dock Attendant for our City Cruises operation in Gananoque.

* Please note this is a seasonal contract position. *

About You:

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences’ RESPECT Service System.

About the Opportunity:

The Dock Attendant will perform a variety of tasks to ensure smooth dock operations. The Dock Attendant will work safely and efficiently while providing high-level customer service to guests. This position reports to the Dock Manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent hospitality to guests and coworkers following the RESPECT Service System
  • Manage guest traffic flow on and off the docks
  • Follow safety protocols to protect passengers and vessels
  • Handle lines to moor vessels to dock
  • Keep docks clean and free of debris
  • Answer inquiries and provide facility information
  • Report incidents or safety concerns immediately to the Dock Manager
  • Assist guests with questions or concerns and relay information to the Dock Manager
  • Support Food & Beverage team with daily food delivery and restocking of boats
  • Follow all safety, departmental policies, and service standards
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations
  • Be prepared to start work at scheduled times
  • Maintain uniform and personal grooming standards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • O.S.S.D. or equivalent as recognized by the Ministry of Education
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Service-oriented with a proactive approach to helping others
  • Energetic and enthusiastic personality
  • Ability to wear PPE (non-slip shoes, gloves, weather-appropriate attire, sun protection) if required
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license, Class G2 or higher
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions for extended periods
  • Capability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push, pull, move, or lift up to 40 pounds (18 kg)
  • Availability to work on major holidays
