Divisional Controller

Role Summary:

Our Company is growing and seeking a Divisional Controller for the Engineered Products [EP] Group of Arrow to join our newly integrated corporate finance team. The Company is the parent organization of several divisions operating in the machining and fabrication space. We are looking for an experienced Controller that can successfully multi-task in this multi-divisional environment, lead an accounting team across multiple ERP platforms, and prepare comprehensive financial statements and status reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement consistent accounting policies, controls, and procedures across all divisions, adhering to best practices and legal standards;
  • Hire and prepare coaching plans for all accounting and finance personnel, including Accountants, Cost Analysts, AR, Payroll, and other roles as adopted;
  • Implement consistent contribution margin and gross margin tools and reporting across all divisions;
  • Continually analyze and report production costs by job/project, with keen focus on materials, labour, and overheads applied;
  • Prepare monthly income tax provisions and provide support for income tax preparation and planning;
  • Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis;
  • Provide oversight and monitoring of project accounting to ensure complete and accurate reporting;
  • Review and provide input into cost estimating for project quoting;
  • Review and provide counsel regarding financial implications and risks associated with customer contracts;
  • Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results for the EP Group;
  • Collaborate with FP&A and management to analyze and provide commentary on financial performance to augment financial reporting;
  • Coordinate activities of external auditors;
  • Optimize Company’s working capital metrics, including DSO, DPO, and DIO.

Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Controller or senior-level accounting/finance manager in a similar sized organization;
  • Experience with project accounting and contracts preferred;
  • Knowledge of ASPE and/or IFRS and accounting principles;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computerized Tier 1 or 2 ERP systems;
  • Advanced level skills using Microsoft Excel;
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Self-driven with a focus on independent problem solving and issue resolution.
