Evergreen Catholic Separate School Division is hiring a Division Principal, reporting to the Associate Superintendent of Learning Services, with primary responsibilities of providing leadership, support, and training for administrators and teachers in K-12 curriculum, literacy, numeracy, and assessment. As a leader in Learning Services, the Division Principal must demonstrate a thorough understanding of effective pedagogical practices, grounded in both research and practical knowledge of current and upcoming curricula, professional learning supports, and assessment strategies. Other areas of assigned responsibility will be contingent upon the skills and experience of the successful candidate.

About The Division

Evergreen Catholic Separate School Division comprises ten (10) schools in Devon, Hinton, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, and Westlock, serving approximately 4300 students from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12. The division emphasizes a Catholic faith-based community dedicated to serving each child with faith, hope, and love, guided by the mission of Ever Growing, Learning, and Living in Christ. The division employs over 450 staff and has an operating budget of approximately $50 million for 2025/2026.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Plan, support, and monitor curriculum implementation to ensure student and staff success.
  2. Support division assessment and reporting processes.
  3. Assist in planning, monitoring, and analyzing school-level benchmarks, screening, and provincial assessments.
  4. Use resources that reflect the diversity of Indigenous peoples to support all students' learning.
  5. Collaborate with school and system leaders to address priorities and challenges.
  6. Lead and participate in professional learning based on current research and best practices.
  7. Maintain liaison with agencies and organizations related to curriculum development and staff training.
  8. Employ practices consistent with division policies and procedures.
  9. Stay informed about emerging technologies to enhance practice.
  10. Develop and support comprehensive wellness initiatives, including managing grants from partner organizations.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
