Job summary

The Division Head, Nephrology at the Department of Medicine (University of Ottawa and The Ottawa Hospital) seeks a visionary leader to advance academic and clinical excellence. This role combines responsibility for the Division’s strategic direction with active clinical and educational leadership within a large, bilingual institution in Ottawa.

The successful candidate will hold an MD degree, be eligible for Ontario licensure, and have Royal College nephrology certification or be eligible for

Qualifications

• The successful candidate will hold an MD degree and be eligible for Ontario licensure.
• Certification in Nephrology by the Royal College or eligibility is required.
• Strong academic and clinical leadership experience is essential; bilingual ability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Division of Nephrology with accountability to the Department Chair and hospital/faculty leaders.
• Balance administrative duties with clinical, teaching and research activities.
• Set annual goals and collaborate with department, hospital and faculty to advance strategic priorities.
• Foster education programs including residency and fellowship activities.
